Language Teaching And Teacher Training

The Language Education and Teacher Training Project (programme) aims to improve the quality of Gujarati language teaching for primary and secondary teachers across various talukas and districts. To achieve this, the project organizes Gujarati language classes led by experts and enthusiasts of the language, who help the teachers develop the proper skills of analysis and usage of their mother tongue Gujarati. Matrubhasha Abhiyaan also plans expand the reach of the Gujarati language classes under "Language Teaching And Teacher Training" program to more locations and prepare a new generation of proficient Gujarati language teachers.

As part of this project Matrubhasha Abhiyaan conducted a "Gujarati Language-Skill Training Camp" on Saturday, 19-8-2023, with the participation of Dr. Arvind Bhandari and Dr. Pinkyben Pandya as language experts. Dr. Arvind Bhandari gave an interesting and detailed presentation on listening skills, while Dr. Pinkiben Pandya discussed reading and writing skills and suggested that 'children should learn the use of grammar, not the rules'. They also addressed some important questions related to language learning. Gujarati language teachers from different districts of Gujarat attended this training and gained a lot of basic knowledge about language skills and Gujarati grammar. They also expressed their hope that such trainings would continue in the future.
