The biggest problem for us is that today's parents or guardians send their children to English medium schools for the fear of not having the problem of mother tongue in their children's development. Such attitude of parents or guardians towards the medium of education poses a threat to the survival of the mother tongue. Expressing this opinion, he supported the medium of basic education through the mother tongue and also applauded the work of the teachers who came from different districts of Gujarat and worked for the cultivation of the language in schools.

Trustee of Matribhasa Abhiyan Rajendra Patel also advocated giving basic education to children of tender age through mother tongue only. He appealed to the teachers working to impart primary education to do new experiments in mother tongue to make the mother tongue strong and powerful.
